the first week

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Well, we started this forever ago, but since Chris hasn't finished it, I thought I would go ahead and fix and post it. So, she's almost a month now, but here's the first entry as he wrote it. The pictures aren't labeled, but once we figure this out a little more, we'll do better at making them look nice and labeled. The pictures on here so far are of the following with Elena: Ashley, Chris, Cliff and Pam, Avery, and John.

Though Elena joined the world six days ago, we've been a little busy. After Ashley was induced on the 16th, had hours and hours of contractions, and over two hours of pushing, Elena came out by Cesarean at 5:33 on the morning of the 17th. She was 7 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches in length. Other than the common weight loss (now on the upswing) and a little jaundice (not enough to use lamps), she's totally healthy and happy. Her mom is still a little sore but more annoyed by the fact that she's not supposed to pick up things or drive or take baths. We came home on Saturday, after four days and four nights at the hospital. We haven't quite hit what you'd call a routine.
