17 days

well, she's two weeks and three days old now. on her first doctor's visit, she weighed 7 lbs. 6 ounces. Five days later we took her back to the doctor because she had a blocked tear duct, and she had gained 10 ounces! She's a sweet, sweet baby, and smiles a lot of the time. our favorite is when she laughs in her sleep. she hasn't done it while awake, but her whole body shakes in this "heh heh heh" way. cute. at night, she lets us sleep about 2 or 2 1/2 hours between feedings, but during the day when it's just her and mama, she's hungry every hour and fifteen minutes! she loves to have poems read to her, but gets over excited and needs consoling after a little while. we've tried to give her a pacifier (to have a little more time between feedings) but she isn't very good at it. she sucks on her hand instead, and makes really funny, really loud slurping noises. also, she is a genius baby. not that i'm partial. two days ago, she figured out how to roll over from her back (how she sleeps) to her side, and has once rolled onto her belly. we found this out because she woke us up screaming with both legs stuck outside of her cradle. we put the bumpers back in...
