It's true. Last night he was in a singer-songwriter concert at Hard Rock Cafe in Gatlinburg that was put on by WDVX. There were four nights, and a winner was chosen from each night to compete in the final round, which was also last night. He won the first round, and then of the final four, he came in second. In all, he came in second of 28 people. He won a gift certificate for the first round, and a Hard Rock Fender guitar for the second. I didn't think I'd ever be married to someone who was a Hard Rock Cafe star! I was really proud of him, and he got a lot of nice compliments from judges and participants, and talked to Karen Reynolds, the host of Writers Block, for about an hour, which was great. Rock star=Chris Tappan! Well, something like it, anyway! 
For those who don't know, he also came in second in a New City singer-songwriter contest last February. Pretty good since he has competed against people who are working to make music their career!

Wow- congratulations Chris! Wish we could have been there to hear. I loved hearing you play at Eastern that one time- I still remember that my favorite song was about sandcastles and image and God? At least that's how I took it :-) Hey- would you be willing to post a video or sound clip of you singing for those of us that don't live close enough to go to a live performance?
