Halloween, and some other things

Yesterday ended up not going quite as planned. Elena and I went to Smart Toys and books for an art class, then ran a couple of errands. She came home and napped, and Chris came home to watch her for my doctor's appointment. At the appointment, they asked if I had any questions, and I mentioned that I'd had lots of Braxton-Hicks contractions and just didn't know how many was normal. WAY less than I've been having apparently, because now I'm on modified bedrest. Meaning, I can sit on the couch and hang with Elena, but not much else for the next two weeks, at least, and longer if I don't want her to come in two weeks. I'm 32 weeks now, and she said it'd be much better for Maeve if I can make it to 34. Or, in the very blunt way she said it, it's no fun to have a 21 month old at home and a newborn at Children's. Yikes. I was hoping she'd be LATE, certainly not 6-8 weeks early. I've been overdoing it, trying to do fun things with Leni and get things ready, so we're going to just try sitting and doing nothing for the weekend while Chris is home and see if it helps. They're worse in the afternoon and evening, but I haven't had any this morning sitting on the couch for the last half hour. So, keep us in mind. It's pretty frustrating to not get up.

So, modified bedrest includes not trick or treating. We were going to go to market square, but instead went to four houses in my parents neighborhood of people we knew, then sat and passed out candy. I wanted her to see kids dressed up, hence the market square, but she was happy at Mimi and Poppy's house and mama could sit.

She did get in to trick or treating this year. Here, she found a kit kat and ate half of it herself. Shifty eyes at questions about trick or treating

Her first real trick or treating at the Mothersheds' house-she knocked, said trick or treat, and walked right in! We had to work on that before other houses...

Oh BOO...bedrest is the PITS!! Wish we were still there and I would come and keep you company!! I know it can be VERY lonely, so you need to just recruit people to come over and hang out!! I took up knitting and word searches~ha ha!! Hang in there!! Take it from me, having children in the NICU SUCKS and I can't imagine having 1 there and 1 at home!! I couldn't really appreciate it at the time, but what a GREAT excuse to be lazy!! You just let everyone wait on you, it's the only time in your life you'll be able to do it!! It's funny how God has taken us down similar paths lately!! I'm so thankful for your friendship!! Love you & miss you!! Keep us posted!!

Hope that your week has been going well. Must be hard taking it easy, especially with Leni! Let me know if you need anything!
